– All circuits must be secured using a proper Lock-out/Tag-out kit.
– Voltage indicators used for proving dead must be compliant with HSE Guidance Note GS38.
B. Competence and Training
– All electrical operatives must hold a current ECS Card appropriate to their grade.
– Work is inspected and tested in accordance with BS 7671 (18th Edition or current amendment).
– Apprentices are always supervised by a fully qualified electrician.
C. Tools and Equipment
– 110V tools (yellow plugs/transformers) or battery-operated tools are to be used on construction sites to reduce shock risk.
– All portable electrical appliances (drills, chargers, grinders) are subject to regular visual inspections and formal PAT testing (In-service inspection and testing).
– Hand tools must be VDE insulated to 1000V.
D. Asbestos (The “Silent Killer”)
– We acknowledge the risk of asbestos in buildings constructed before 2000 (e.g., fuse flash guards, textured ceilings, service ducts).
– If asbestos is suspected, work must cease immediately, the area must be evacuated, and the client informed.
E. CDM Regulations 2015
– On construction projects, we will cooperate with the Principal Contractor and adhere to the Construction Phase Plan.
